HOT ! Barrell Batch 035 Bourbon Whiskey｜ Other Products

Barrell doesn't make whiskey; it builds it. Founded in Louisville in 2013 by Joe Beatrice, the company sources barrels from across the country and blends them, batch by batch, into cask-strength bourbons that never repeat — and the numbered batches are its core. Batch 035, released in 2023, is a multi-mash-bill blend of six- and seven-year-old barrels selected for a specific character: spicy, earthy, high-rye, high-proof, and oak-forward, per Whiskey Consensus. As always, the component ages and the derived mash bill are on the label, bottled at cask strength with no chill filtration. Breaking Bourbon called it a bourbon that further showcases Barrell's blending capability. Bourbon Culture, the series' most exacting critic, traces the evolution honestly: from Batch 030 on, Barrell began incorporating bourbon from craft distilleries and a growing share of MGP's 99% corn recipe — the "high corn barrels" in the label descriptions — which gives modern batches a more youthful, bright profile than the teenage-barrel blends of the early years. Expect a spice-driven nose of rye pepper, cinnamon, and toasted oak with caramel and a faint earthiness, opening into a dense, warm palate where high-rye spice leads over toffee, dried fruit, and charred wood, finishing long and hot in the way cask strength should, with water bringing out sweetness. Proof varies by batch; check the label. For fans who want Barrell at its spiciest, this is the batch.
