Sommarøy Gin is a lower-proof craft gin named for a Norwegian island where the summer sun never sets. Launched in Chicago by Michael Barkin and James Cosma, it is a real distilled gin, corn-based with juniper and botanicals and no added flavors, bottled at 27.5% ABV (55 proof), about two-thirds the strength of a standard gin. The idea is a full-flavored drink that lets you make the most of a long evening.InsideHook found a dominant pine note on the nose, juniper and citrus in balance on the palate and good mouthfeel and texture despite the lower alcohol, and concluded it performs comparably to standard gin in cocktails and offers a more flavorful option than most canned cocktails or zero-proof spirits. Pour it in a G&T, a Collins or a spritz, or neat over ice. Ideal for day drinking, weeknights and anyone cutting back without giving up a proper cocktail.Buy Sommarøy Gin Lower Proof online with fast shipping right to your door.
