Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye Whiskey 2024 is the barrel-proof rye from the 2024 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, the limited annual release that whiskey collectors line up for every fall. Named for the New Orleans bartender credited with putting rye whiskey in the Sazerac cocktail, Handy is bottled uncut and unfiltered straight from the barrel at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, and the 2024 edition came out at 127.2 proof after six years and three months of aging.Breaking Bourbon described cinnamon powder, Fireball candy, sandalwood and light fruit punch on the nose, cinnamon syrup, summer fruit, bold rye spice and peppery oak on an intense palate, and a dry, warming finish of rye spice, cinnamon stick, charred oak and leather, calling it bold and flavorful. Handy is the youngest and hottest whiskey in the collection and the one built for rye purists. Each year's release is tiny and disappears from shelves almost immediately, making it a must for anyone collecting the Antique Collection by vintage.Buy Thomas H.
