Soft, glowing, and beautifully long-blooming, Penstemon 'Aurora' brings luminous tubular flowers and graceful upright growth to sunny gardens. This easy-care perennial is a wonderful choice for pollinator gardens, cottage borders, mixed perennial beds, and water-wise landscapes where color, movement, and wildlife value are all welcome. With its showy blooms and relaxed garden presence, Penstemon 'Aurora' adds a fresh, elegant note to the warm-season garden.
Growing into a tidy, upright clump, Penstemon 'Aurora' fits beautifully among sun-loving perennials, California native plants, ornamental grasses, and other drought-tolerant garden favorites. Its nectar-rich flowers attract hummingbirds, bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects, making it especially useful in wildlife-friendly plantings. Pair it with salvias, yarrow, lavender, buckwheats, gaura, catmint, verbena, and silver foliage for a layered, pollinator-friendly garden display with plenty of texture and seasonal color.
Plant Penstemon 'Aurora' in full sun with well-drained soil and low to moderate water once established. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage a tidy appearance and continued bloom, and avoid overly rich or soggy soil for best performance. Colorful, resilient, and wonderfully useful to pollinators, this long-blooming Penstemon is a beautiful addition to sunny borders and habitat gardens.
